I recently did a bit of browsing in search of information on the early Internet from articles and books to research papers and archived Blog posts. From what I could gather, that sentimental fondness of the early Internet may not be Nostalgia at all. In those days, there did exist a sense of community and belonging that has since been lost in the 21st century. Apparently, this was back in the 1980s-1990s, and a lot has changed since then. What were these early communities like and is the National Intranet and its Social Forums a way of recreating those experiences in a New form?
