Update (25 November 2023)

The rest of this week had left me completely preoccupied due to Thanksgiving. The coming next week is also going to be another hectic one, except it is because of various appointments that need to be attended to offline. Because more of my time is being spent outside of the Blog, I am starting to wonder as to when I will be able to get back to writing something substantial. To compensate for this shortfall, I am thinking about completing a post today, another tomorrow, and at least two more next Wednesday and Friday. I will definitely write subsequent Update posts to inform people on what the subject of the other three posts pertains to.

Regarding today’s post, my experiences playing the Cold War Enhancement mod for Victoria 2 earlier in the week. What little time I had left was spent looking through the MS Excel files that described the mod’s distinct content. I discovered that there were a number of proposals for supranational nations which, at one point in the late 20th century, was considered but never pursued because they were either hypothetical or lacked enough support to reach that stage. The mod’s authors (there were several over the years, it seems) also had their own notable perspectives on post-1945 geopolitics that I would like to discuss in some length as a dedicated post on The Fourth Estate.
