Update (31 May 2024)

I must confess that the only genuine way of getting involved in American political life is to affiliate oneself with “special interest groups.” This is of course of one of the limitations of living under a Parliamentary Democracy. America is no exception to this, given its historical origins and the manner in which things had developed in the past two centuries. The challenge for me is trying to figure out which “special interest groups” should I support because I have my own objections about the idea, all of which I had addressed in The Work-Standard (3rd Ed.). Fortunately, I have found myself associating with a select few that I could say are neutral enough that they cannot easily favor either half of the Democratic-Republican Party.

At the moment, I think Julius Krein’s American Affairs is definitely going to be one of the few organizations that cater to my political-economic views. For those who do not know, American Affairs does accept tax-deductible donations from its own readers. I confirmed it myself when I research its current status when I consulted the IRS website regarding its list of “501(c) non-profit organizations.”

Speaking of which, I should mention that donating to Lobbying Groups at the Federal or State level are not tax deductible. In other words, an American taxpayer cannot claim a Tax Deduction by donating Lobbying Groups. This is totally understandable for anyone concerned about any potential “conflicts of interest” in this Parliamentary Democracy.
