The last two Chapters of the English translation of Kita Ikki’s Kokutairon and Pure Socialism have just been uploaded to Digital Library VI. The final Chapters are akin to Chapter Five of Oswald Spengler’s Prussianism and Socialism, which delved into the topic of the International and where to draw the line between individual Proletarian Nations and Bourgeois Nations. Of course, Kokutairon and Pure Socialism predated Prussianism and Socialism and, more importantly, Vladimir Lenin’s Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism by at least a decade. It is nice to know that Imperialism of the Liberal Capitalist variety were being explored prior to the World Wars, when it finally achieved momentum after 1945.
By the way, there is a more recent and much better English translation of Kokutairon and Pure Socialism, but it only covers the Chapters from Sections One and Two (Chapter 1-4). This translation was done back in March 2025, and from what I had seen of it, the writing is a lot clearer in certain places. I am sharing the link to that in case anyone wants a better translation than the one I am leaving here for free on The Fourth Estate.
