After a bit of experimentation with the Customizer, I was able to revise the layout and appearance of the Blog. So far, I am convinced that everything should be fine at this point, but I cannot be so sure. The recent changes that I have made pertain to how the Blog appears to people visiting the site. Overall, I am settled with the way it now looks for now.
