Update (8 August 2023)

I did some more digging around online lately, this time in regard to that “Special Military Operation” in Ukraine. If I am reading some of these reports right, apparently Post-Soviet Russia is planning to bring more of its Soviet-era vehicles out of long-term storage. Either vehicle losses from the past year are too high or Moscow is trying to expand its armed forces. The narrative here in the West is that it has to be the former. Yet something tells me it is probably the latter.

Things are not that much better for Ukraine. Seems like the Empire of Liberty is also having trouble arming and equipping the Ukrainians, with the Ukrainians still expecting more NATO armaments from the West. This goes to show that the Military-Industrial Complexes of the world have atrophied in the past few decades. The idea that a single nation’s Military-Industrial Complex could churn out an entire arsenal on its own without help from other nations (with the obvious exception of importing raw materials and components) is becoming an increasingly distant pipe dream. The current state of armaments development among most nations is simply too advanced to facilitate the sort of mass production that was achieved in the last century, making the latest conflicts seem longer than they actually are at times.
